Woman in Alleged False Police Report Case Charged with Arson

LEXINGTON, Mo. — A woman who claimed that she was the victim of harassment from Lexington residents has been charged with three counts of arson for allegedly starting the fires that damaged her own home.

Shawna K. Jobe, 38, is accused of setting three fires in her Lexington home on April 14, April 15 and May 7th. She had previously been charged with making a false police report and theft in connection to what Jobe claimed were attacks on her and her family.

Investigators say that Jobe committed insurance fraud when she accepted more than $25,000 for one of the April fires.

Last week, Jobe told FOX 4 that she was the target of the arsons and, she claimed, a rape in her own backyard on August 4th.

In her interview with FOX 4’s Rob Low, Jobe claimed that Lexington Police were not taking her claims seriously.

“The police think that I’m targeting myself,” said Jobe.
