KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A worker was killed Friday evening in a construction accident in the West Bottoms.
On Saturday, police identified the victim as William A. Prater, 68, of Kansas City, Mo.
According to police, Prater died when a part of the building he was working on collapsed on him.
Witnesses told police the crew was in the process of demolishing the building at 1225 West 8th Street.
Early reports indicate the man was a member of the construction company.
