Wildcats win with ease

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Shane Southwell and Thomas Gipson each scored 20 points and K-State crushed West Virginia 78-56.

The Wildcats shot a sizzling 58-percent in the first half, and finished making 55 percent of their shots for the game. Southwell was four-for-eight from three-point range.

Marcus Foster made three of his five three-point attempts, and the Cats were nine-for-21 as a team.

On a day when K-State honored its 1964 Final Four squad, the modern-day Wildcats made the Mountaineers look silly. The Cats (14-4 / 4-1 in the Big 12) visit Texas on Tuesday.
