Former FOX 4 Blue Chip athlete Shane Ray leads the way on defense for Missouri

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After a big holiday weekend of college football, Alabama, Oregon, TCU and Florida State are the teams listed as the top four in the next-to-last release of the College Football Playoff rankings. Fresh off an SEC East division clinching victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Missouri Tigers checked in at number 16.

The Tigers are set to meet Alabama this weekend in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game. Missouri earned a second-straight division championship thanks in no small part due to the play of junior defensive end Shane Ray.

Ray broke the Missouri single-season school record for sacks, he currently has 13.5, and also helps anchor the Tigers’ defense which is ranked in the top 20 nationally in both scoring defense and yards per game. The Tigers’ tilt with the Crimson Tide is set to kick off at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
