K-State’s Snyder Named AP Big 12 Coach of the Year

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder managed to take a team with virtually no expectations this season to a BCS bowl game, and on Tuesday the veteran coach was rewarded for his efforts.

Snyder, whose 10-2 Wildcats are set to take on Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl, was named the Associated Press’ Big 12 Coach of the Year on Tuesday – far outdistancing runner-up Mike Gundy of Oklahoma State.

It’s Snyder’s third Coach of the Year award at Kansas State, but his first since un-retiring in 2009. Snyder also won the Big 8 Coach of the Year award three times.
