KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs’ camp is weighing in on the recent NFL controversy related to domestic violence.
“I’m glad it’s being addressed and I think positive things can happen,” said Kansas City Chiefs’ Head Coach Andy Reid as he and some Chiefs players weigh in on the NFL’s currently tarnished image.
The National Football League has recently come under fire after two of its star players made national headlines.
In the last two weeks, Baltimore Ravens star running back Ray Rice was caught on camera punching his fiancée in a casino elevator. The NFL is now appealing Rice’s indefinite suspension.
Just days later, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, was barred from the team after he was arrested in Texas on charges that he beat his four-year-old son.
“This is just another situation we just have to be aware of and learn from. Really be the man that does the right thing and you’ll be fine, “said Chiefs’ rookie linebacker, Dee Ford.
“I think the biggest thing and Coach Reid touched on it, is to prevent these things from happening. You know by giving guys help and finding ways to resolve problems,” said Kansas Chiefs’ quarterback Alex Smith.
