Report: Dwayne Bowe Set to Rejoin Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It appears that the Dwayne Bowe watch may be about over, as the Kansas City Chiefs holdout wide receiver is set to rejoin the team, according to multiple reports on Friday evening.

Bowe was spotted on Friday afternoon aboard a commercial flight from his home in Atlanta to Kansas City. Bowe had no comment when he arrived at Kansas City International Airport.

The 27-year-old Bowe, who was the Chiefs first-round draft pick in 2007, was given the team’s franchise tag during the off-season, but had not come to an agreement with the Chiefs on a long-term contract.

According to NFL.com, Bowe’s contract for the 2012 season will be worth approximately $9.5 million in base salary, which will become fully-guaranteed once the tender has been formally signed.

In five years with the Chiefs, Bowe has 356 receptions for 4,927 yards and 36 touchdowns. Last season, Bowe led Chiefs receivers with 81 catches for 1,159 yards and five touchdowns.

In 2010, Bowe was named an All-Pro selection and went to the Pro Bowl.

The Chiefs will play the Arizona Cardinals on Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium in their first pre-season game of the year.
