KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s the eighth week of the regular season, and the Chiefs stand alone as the as the only unbeaten team in the NFL. Andy Reid says there are no injuries to report, and everyone is healthy and practicing as the Chiefs prepare for Sunday’s home game against the Cleveland Browns.
As the wins stack up, the Chiefs are getting more and more national attention. But Reid said during his press briefing that the team is focused only on the Browns.
“You don’t get caught up in all of that. That’s fluff. The thing that you take care of is you make sure that you respect your opponent, you study your opponent and you get yourself right. You make sure you know the game plan. That’s what you can control.”
“All of this (media) stuff, you can’t control. You can’t control what you guys say or do or anybody else; you control what you can control. You have enough there that keeps you busy all the way up to the game,” Reid said.
“It’s still early. We’re not even half way through the season yet, but we love winning,” said safety Eric Berry. “We love winning games, but it’s about being 1-0 this week so if we win this game that will be another rung on the latter. We’re just trying to make sure we keep doing what we do and getting all of the mistakes cleaned up and try to push through the season.”
The Browns (3-4) announced Wednesday that Jason Campbell will start at quarterback. He replaces struggling starter Brandon Weeden. Campbell will be facing the best pass-rushing team in the NFL.
