LIBERTY, Mo. — Patrick Pulse, 28, is the man police say shot another man twice in the head early Sunday morning in the parking lot of a popular Liberty, Mo., bar and restaurant, The Landing, 1189 W. Kansas Street.
Authorities say the victim is a 41-year-old Kansas City man, who was working as a Lyft driver and was called to The Landing for service. He was shot around 1:45 a.m. and was transported to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Logan Pulse of Independence has been charged with 1st degree assault and armed criminal action. Witnesses say four to six gun shots were fired during the fight between Pulse and the victim. The witnesses told police they did not see the victim with a weapon and police did not find any on him. The victim was shot three times, with two rounds entering his head, the other hit his chest, near his left arm.
Witnesses described the suspect and also told officers he had left in a silver Jeep. One of them had a picture of the car and front license plate. Less than an hour after the shooting, a Clay County Sheriff’s deputy, who had heard the broadcast of the suspect over police radios, saw the car on southbound 291 Highway near 210 Highway. Independence police officers and Sugar Creek police officers arrived to assist with the traffic stop, and Pulse was taken into custody peacefully.
During the arrest, police say he said he ‘f***ed up’ and had gotten into an argument over his girlfriend.
He remains in custody at the Clay County jail. His bond has been set at $100,000.
