LATHROP, Mo. — Relatives say 50-year-old Carol Thompson is a loving mother of three adult sons and five grandchildren. Thompson, who family members say battles depression and has heart problems, hasn’t been seen in more than a month.
Dwight Adkison says he last saw Thompson around 2 a.m. on June 15 sitting in their living room. Adksion says he went back to sleep only to awake four hours later and see that she was gone. Her purse, her cell phone and medication all sitting on a table.
“We love her and we miss her, ” Adkison said. “Waiting on that one good call to say here she is, she’s alive and well and we can get her back.”
Dozens of volunteers scoured fields in the rural area. Caldwell County Sheriff Jerrry Galloway says his deputies and many other law enforcement agencies have also searched for the missing woman, but so far, no sign of Carol Thompson. Judy Courtney posted fliers, bearing her sister’s picture, on her vehicle and around Caldwell County. Courtney also set up a Find Carol Thompson page on Facebook.
“I want Carol to know that we love her. We want her to come home and for now, we keep praying, keep searching,” she said. “We won’t give up. ”
A $1,600 reward is being offered in the case.
Anyone who sees Carol Thompson should call the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department’s TIPS Hotline at (816) 586-COPS or (816) 586-2677.
