KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating after a girl under the age of 10 was shot in the leg Wednesday evening.

The shooting was reported around 6 p.m. near 43rd Street and S. Benton.

Police said the girl, who’s exact age was not given, had just gotten out of the car to play at a nearby park, when people in a silver four-door car began to shoot at another vehicle.

The girl was hit in the leg. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No further suspect information has been released at this time.
