KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs work to relieve hunger every year with their Thanksgiving Food Drive, assembling food baskets and then delivering them to hundreds of families.
This year, while delivering food to one woman, Chiefs wide receiver Dexter McCluster got a little pep talk.
“She said she’s been praying for us,” he said. “She wants us to work a little harder, so I’m going to relay that message to the team and just tell them, ‘You know what? Miss Louise said work a little harder and we’ll win.'”
Miss Louise may have been referring to the fact that the Chiefs have lost seven games in a row and all five home games in 2012. Kansas City, as a whole, is likely hoping that Miss Louise’s prayers will be answered on Sunday when the Chiefs play the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium.
