OXFORD — A 12-year-old girl was forced to have a “back-room” abortion after she became pregnant after repeatedly being raped by a group of men, according to the BBC.
She is one of six children believed to have been abused by nine men who are suspected of exploiting them for sex in Oxford, England.
The men deny the 51 charges against them, including rape, arranging child prostitution and sex trafficking girls between the ages of 11 and 15 from 2004 to 2012.
One of the victims told jurors she was “sold” to Mohammed Karrar when she turned 11 to “cure her bad attitude.”
The trial is expected to last until April. The defendants — all in custody — range in ages of 24 to 38.
