KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An Independence man has been charged in the murder of a man found shot and killed in a south Kansas City home last week.

Adrian E. Roberson, 20, faces Murder 2nd Degree, four counts of Robbery 1st Degree and five counts of Armed Criminal Action in connection to the January 8th shooting death of 29-year-old Brandon Sloan at a residence in the 8900 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard.

Another defendant, Kelvin B. Taylor, 24, has already been charged in Sloan’s death and robbery.

According to court documents, witnesses told police that Sloan was shot and killed during a drug deal that turned into an armed robbery.

Prosecutors have requested a $250,000 cash-only bond.
