OLATHE, Kan. — Authorities are investigating after a police officer shot and killed a suspect in an Olathe store on Friday evening.

The man killed as been identified as Cody M. Kincheloe, 21, of Olathe.

According to authorities, the shooting occurred at Dollar General Store on Clairborne Road just south of Santa Fe Street around 8:00 p.m. on Friday night.

Police say that officers were called to the area of Santa Fe and Clairborne on a report of a car driving in the wrong lane of traffic. Police found the vehicle in the parking lot of the Dollar General store, and when the officer went inside the store he was confronted by a man who pointed a gun at him.

The officer opened fire on the suspect, killing him.
