KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s one of the biggest threats to your smartphone — porn.

Mobile users don’t actually check out pornography often. It accounts for just one percent of all mobile traffic. But, for those that do, the risk for inadvertently downloading malware increases three-fold.

That makes watching porn on your smartphone as a far bigger threat than viewing it on a PC.

The study was done by Blue Coat — a web security and optimization company. Blue Coat said part of the problem is the nature of mobile devices makes differentiating legitimate sites from malicious ones tricky.

Porn led to more problems on smartphones and tablets than email spam, malicious websites and fake apps combined.
