RAYTOWN, Mo. — Police have a close-up picture of a man they believe has robbed at least five businesses in Raytown, Mo., between Saturday and Monday during the early morning hours. They’re hoping surveillance video will help identify him.
Police said the suspect shattered the glass door at Ace Beauty Supply before stealing an undisclosed amount of cash. Sixteen surveillance cameras show the suspect inside the store. One camera caught the suspect crawling under the door’s security sensor. By avoiding the sensor, the suspect managed to sneak in and out without setting off the alarm. Ace Beauty Supply has since increased their security measures.
“We’ve beefed up our sensors and our security,” said Elaine Jefferson, employee at Ace Beauty Supply. “Hopefully other businesses will do the same and check on their monitors periodically to make sure that they’re working good, so we can catch the person that’s doing this.”
In the same strip mall, a Cricket store was also burglarized. The suspect — who is believed to be the same man — entered the store by breaking the glass door. Other businesses that were burglarized include Direct General, Goodyear Tire and Team Tires Plus.
Raytown police are asking anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816.474.TIPS.
