KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There’s nothing like sipping on a cold one, eating a hot dog, indulging in some ice cream while lounging in the sun during the summer.  But very soon those summer foods will sneak up on you and ruin that bikini body you worked so hard on.

There are some foods that just make you think of summer.  Unfortunately, many of the foods we love aren’t good for our waistlines.

Hot dogs top the list for their fat and calories counts as well at T-bone steaks.  A 20-ounce t-bone can weigh in at 1,500 calories and 124 grams of fat.

Of course, nothing goes better with a big, juicy steak right off the grill than those mayonaised-based salads.  Even the tiniest portion of a typical potato salad has 180 calories and 12 grams of fat.

Frozen treats including ice cream and fruit smoothies, may taste delicious, but are also packed with sugar and calories.

Summer fairs and carnivals mean fried food — most of the time on a stick.  One of those turkey legs everyone is carrying around may look good, but it will cost you more than 1,000 calories and typically has about 54 grams of fat.

You might think eating a salad is a healthy choice, but beware on what you put on top of your greens.  Fried chicken, cheese and croutons can negate the benefits of going out to eat lettuce at lunch.

Mindless snacking is also a big no-no if you want to keep your beach bod.  Cheese nachos will cost you nearly 700 calories.  Chips or cheese puffs run about 10 grams of fat a serving and 160 calories.
