NEW YORK — T-Mobile announced Wednesday customers can upgrade their phones twice a year, but there’s a fee attached.
For a $10 monthly fee, JUMP plan users can get a new phone if the old one malfunctions or if there’s just a newer phone that comes out.
With it, customers can upgrade twice a year. Most companies allow upgrades once every two years. You just have to be a Jump program member for at least six months, the company said.
“We are going to redefine a stupid, broken and arrogant industry,” T-Mobile US CEO John Legere told ABCNews.com. “Two years is too long to be locked into a phone. That’s 730 days of watching new phones come out that you cannot have.”
