KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Former Kansas City Royals third baseman and Baseball Hall of Famer George Brett and his brothers are facing a class-action lawsuit over necklaces that claimed to relieve muscle stiffness, among other ailments.
Brett Brothers Sports International, Inc. is being sued in federal court for allegedly defrauding customers with their line of Ionic and Titanium necklaces and bracelets, which, according to the lawsuit, claim to relieve stiffness in the shoulders and neck, stabilize your body and help recover from sports fatigue, in addition to improving concentration and focus.
The lawsuit alleges that Brett Brothers marketed the jewelry from 2008 to October of 2010. The suit does not specify the amount of damages being sought by the plaintiffs.
Brett played for the Royals from 1973 to 1993. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.
