KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are looking for some thieves who are breaking into homes in south Kansas City. Now thanks to one homeowner they have some pretty good surveillance video to help police find them.
Police told that burglars have been breaking into homes near Ruskin High School south to about 115th street.
The victim wanted to remain anonymous since the crooks are still out there. She said she’s glad that her Time Warner security system worked, alerting her to the break in, and then captured this surveillance video of the bad guys.
She said police told her this is the first time they have gotten a good look at the thieves, since two of them look directly at the camera. There appears to be five of them total and they are in and out of the house in about five minutes.
The victim says they cleaned her out, taking all her electronics and jewelry. She hopes someone recognizes their faces from her video and turns them in.
“It’s a very violating feeling,” she told FOX 4, “I don’t want it to happen to the next person. They need to be stopped.”
She believes one of the thieves had a gun on him, so she’s worried that someone could end up getting hurt in one of these breakins.
