ROELAND PARK, Kan. — Police are investigating a home invasion in the 5200 block of 50th Terrace in Roeland Park, Kan. Police said the incident happened around 11:40 a.m. Friday.
Officers said the homeowner was tied up with an electrical cord at gunpoint by two masked men. Also in the home were the homeowner’s two children, both under the age of five. The homeowner told FOX 4’s Brad Underwood that the men threatened to kill his kids if he didn’t cooperate.
The children remained in the room while their father was tied up in hog-tie style. No one suffered serious physical injury.
One of the suspects left in the homeowner’s 2006 white Range Rover. The second suspect left in a gray Chrysler Pacifica. They were last seen driving north toward Interstate 435.
Both suspects were likely in their mid-twenties.
Once they were gone, the man hopped across the house to his phone. The men had taken his cell phone.
FOX 4’s Brad Underwood spoke with the victim, who did not want to go on camera, but did have visible red marks on his wrist where he was tied up.
