BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Severe flooding in Jamestown in Colorado’s Boulder County killed two people, authorities said early Thursday morning.
One person died after being trapped in a collapse structure, said Gabbie Boerkircher, spokeswoman for the county.
Then, a Colorado Springs fire official confirmed a second death occurred because of the severe flooding.
The circumstances of the other death weren’t clear early Thursday, but the Colorado Springs Fire Department said on Twitter that the body had been recovered by a “heavy rescue team.”
The night of torrential rain has caused rock slides and flash flooding that collapsed homes, put dams at risk and forced hundreds of people to evacuate.
