(CNN) — A 56-year-old man was found dead Monday in western Tennessee after a skydiving incident went horribly wrong.

Seven people jumped from about 29,000 feet late Monday morning, according to Fayette County Sheriff Raymond Garcia.

Six made it to the ground safely.

The man’s body was found in a wooded area about a mile from the drop zone, Garcia said. It was not immediately clear what happened.

Earlier, the sheriff had said the man was from California. He jumped with West Tennessee Skydiving.
