LOS ANGELES — The Grammy Awards ceremony rocked the night with performances from The Boss, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Rihanna and Coldplay.
But the ceremony began as many knew and hoped it would, with a prayer for Whitney Houston, her daughter and loved ones. Host LL Cool J set the tone for the 54th Grammy Awards by remembering the music icon while honoring this year’s nominees and winners.
Homages to two legendary singers who passed, Etta James and Whitney Houston, brought the audience to their feet.
The night belonged to Adele, who swept every major Grammy category, taking home Best Song, Pop Solo, Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Lady Antebellum won Best Country Album. For a complete list of winners, click here.
