AUSTELL, Ga. — Four brothers are in Georgia state custody after they were found living in squalor over the weekend.

According to authorities the boys, ages 14, 13, 12 and 8, lived with their mother and two adult men. The home was infested with roaches, spiders and lice and the children, who did not attend school, lacked the ability to communicate effectively. According to police records, the boys had rotten teeth and one had a foot injury that required surgery.

Police arrested Jennifer Ruth Hollis, 52, Tony Darren Elmore, 53, and Robert Lee Hollis, 37. Each were charged with four counts of first-degree child cruelty.

Elmore, a convicted felon and registered sex offender, spent more than four years in jail for a rape conviction in the 90s.

A neighbor told a local news affiliate he did not know children lived in the home.

All three suspects are being held each on $100,000 bond.
