KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with a shooting incident that occurred inside a residence on Sunday.
According to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s office, court records said Reggie J. Gant, 19, went to a residence located at 11316 Herrick in Kansas City, where a former girlfriend and another man were early Sunday morning.
Gant allegedly kicked the door in and fired shots at both his ex-girlfriend and the man, striking his former girlfriend. When the incident occurred, both a five-year-old and seven-year-old were said to have been asleep inside the home in a nearby bedroom.
The two victims told police they had both attempted to shoot back at Gant, who was later treated for gunshot wounds at a nearby hospital.
Gant is facing felony charges of first degree domestic assault, and two counts of armed criminal action. Prosecutors have requested a bond of $200,000 cash.
