SHAWNEE, Okla. — A 9-year-old Oklahoma boy is fighting a monumental battle — one 9-year-olds have rarely — if ever — had to face.
About a month ago doctors diagnosed Trevor Storie with Rhabdomyosarcoma — a rare form of prostate cancer.
Initially he told his parents he had a stomach ache. Then he started having problems urinating. After several doctor visits, Storie was eventually diagnosed with stage three prostate cancer.
The disease is more common in older men, but Storie has strength beyond his years. He and his parents have committed to fighting the disease, and doctors have said Storie’s outcome looks promising. They expect a full recovery.
