RAYTOWN, Mo. — Police were searching for suspects who abandoned their car Monday afternoon after a drive-by shooting.

The shooting occurred in the area of 87th St. and Stark Ave. at about 2:30 p.m. Police confirm one person whom they describe as a ‘little girl’, was injured by broken glass. The child was in the house at the time of the shooting.

The suspect vehicle was then reportedly seen near 79th St. and Elm. Within a few minutes, the suspected car was found empty at 81st and Arlington. (See map below for route.) Police were trying to find the suspect or suspects, who they assume escaped on foot.

FOX 4 has a crew on the scene and will update developments online at fox4kc.com and on our evening newscasts.
