GARDNER, Kan. — At a Special Board of Education meeting of the Gardner Edgerton School Board on Thursday,the USD 231 Board of Education decided to terminate three key executives.
In a news release sent out on Friday, the district said the board voted 4 to 3 to ‘move the district in a new direction.’
The Board voted to terminate the contracts of Superintendent Dr. Bill Gilhaus; the Executive Director of Educational Services Dr. Christy Ziegler; and Executive Director of Administrative Services Lana Gerber.
The Board said it would not comment any further because the issue was a personnel issue.
The Board said it appointed Pam Stranathan, Director of Secondary Education as Interim Superintendent of Schools effective immediately.
