KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police have identified a homicide victim killed on Thursday as Calvert Antwine, a black male who was 32 years old. Officers responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of Lydia on Thursday and found the vehicle Antwine was driving on its roof at 13th and Virginia. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was reportedly a passenger in the overturned car, it is still unclear whether the passenger suffered any injuries. Investigators have been told that another vehicle had a person or people shooting at the car Antwine was driving. The crash was reportedly the result of Antwine trying to evade the gunfire. There are currently no suspects in custody.
