RICHMOND, Mo. — A mother and her son were killed on Sunday in an apartment fire according to the Richmond Fire Department. Tonya Hood, 39, and her son Chad Evans, 17, were identified as the victims and found deceased inside an apartment on Sunday morning.

A news release indicates that the fire was reported at 8:40 a.m. in the 100 block of West Franklin Street. Investigators with the Richmond police and fire departments as well as the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office are currently looking into what caused the fire.
