KANSAS CITY, Kan. — FOX 4 first brought you this story on Tuesday about five students not allowed to walk at graduation because of their involvement in a food fight. Now, one more student has stepped up saying he will be denied that privilege as well.

There are now six seniors in total not allowed to walk at graduation. On Wednesday afternoon, dozens of friends and family carried signs and marched from Pearson Park to Turner High School and ended up at the recreation center to make their case.
Six seniors lead the charge with a trail of supporters cheering them on. After completing nearly four years of high school, these boys will not walk at graduation. And it’s not by choice.
They were involved in a food fight at Turner High School. The students will be able to graduate, but will not be allowed to participate in graduation activities. It’s a punishment described by the seniors as too severe and unfair.
“The whole cafeteria was involved. I only threw a banana,” said Justin Kos, one of the students involved.
The seniors started a petition and protest to get the word out. All they’re asking is to let them walk. This rite of passage is not only important to them, but especially to their family members.
“It sucks because I’ll be the first one to graduate from my family,” said senior Dakota Simkins.
“All we’re asking is to walk down the aisle. Is that too much?” said Filiberto Dominguez.
Armed with posters and spirit, supporters marched from park to high School, ending up at the recreation center. Besides the cheers, drivers honked in support.
The seniors told FOX 4 they don’t think the protest will change much of anything, but at least they’re trying. Graduation is Thursday night.
