KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Police were in an active standoff with at least two shooting suspects on Sunday evening.

The Kansas City Kansas Police Department confirmed that two suspects, who were believed to be involved in a shooting which took place near 12th and Quindaro earlier in the evening, have been hiding out inside of a building on 13th and Georgia Ave. Police said one person received minor injuries as a result of the shooting.

Around 8:30 p.m. police said they were involved in an active standoff and have issued a pull out of the suspects.

“Of course the safety of the public is a priority. And the safety of our officers. We have set up a perimeter. We believe we have contained the situation in a small area that we can control,” said Sgt. Emmett Lockridge with the KCK Police Department.
