LENEXA, Kan. — Police identified Friday morning the two victims found dead Wednesday night inside a home on a quiet, tree-lined street in Lenexa.

The bodies of Brian Baskind, 47, and Clifford Preston, 79, were discovered after an injured man called 911 unaware of where was. Police pinged his cell phone and found him shot outside a home in the 8500 block of Hallet Drive. The man alerted police to the two dead bodies inside.
Police say Baskind and Preston are related as stepfather and stepson. Preston is the owner of a refrigeration company called Preston Refrigeration, 3200 Fiberglass Road, in Kansas City, Kan.
“We don’t really know the relationship between the other person and the two that were found in the home,” Master Officer Dan Friesen of the Lenexa Police Department said. “At this point we are not looking for anybody else.”

All day Thursday, crime scene investigators were still meticulously working the scene where two men were found dead inside a home.
“They have to be very methodical about documenting the scene with photographs, diagrams, and then go about the task of collecting anything that could be evidence,” said Friesen.
Neighbors questioned by detectives received few answers about what took place.
“They said there was a significant shooting in the house down the street, but they didn’t say anything more,” neighbor Sandy Horvat said.
Thursday, a white work truck was towed from the scene. The electric company the truck was registered to said its employee failed to show up for work. A man who lived inside the home where the bodies were found also failed to show up at the car dealership where he worked in sales.
The injured man remained in the hospital Thursday night, but is in stable condition. FOX 4 will continue to follow this story and provide more details as information is confirmed.
