ST. JOSEPH, Mo.  — It’s not what you’d call a M*A*S*H unit yet, and they don’t carry the sting that injuries do in the middle of an NFL regular season, but the Kansas City Chiefs have had a rash of injuries lately, and they are both numerous and notable.

On Thursday, defensive back Sanders Commings was scheduled for surgery to repair a broken ankle suffered in Wednesday’s workout. Also on Thursday, Pro Bowl Safety Eric Berry left practice on cart after suffering an ankle injury of his own.
Both starting offensive tackles, Eric Fisher and Donald Stephenson have limited in camp because of injuries, and the list doesn’t stop there.

Head Coach Andy Reid says the injuries are noticeable, but not unexpected.

“It happens. It happens as you go through camp, your legs get tired. You get those camp strings, those tight hamstrings. We’ll be fine. You push through it.”

The Chiefs resume workouts on Friday, and host the Cincinnati Bengals in their pre-season opener on Thursday, August 7th at Arrowhead Stadium.
