SEATTLE — Storms have long fascinated man. They’re powerful, unpredictable and — at times — dangerous. One man learned just how unpredictable they can be when he tried to capture a passing storm in Seattle on Saturday.

Clouds were clearing, blue skies were overhead, but so were fierce waves of electricity.

According to KOMO-TV, Robb Montejano was walking across a field and spotted lightning. He pulled out his cell phone in hopes of recording it. In less than a minute a bolt shot down from the sky and hit him — or landed somewhere near him.

“I just felt this surge of electricity go ‘boom’ through my body,” he said. “The electricity flowing through my body. I can’t describe it. It was amazing.”

Montejano is lucky to be alive. Firefighters responded to the scene. Montejano was okay, but the incident left him shaken.
