UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio — Friends say an Ohio man was killed on his wedding day when a pickup truck carrying him, his new wife and friends crashed over the weekend.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Andrew Bloomfield and a friend were killed Sunday in northern Ohio’s Wyandot County when the pickup truck’s driver lost control.

The Bucyrus Telegraph-Forum reports that Bloomfield had married 37-year-old Ruth Driskill hours before the crash, which happened just before 4 p.m. She was in critical condition Monday.

Also killed in the crash was 26-year-old Elizabeth Shelton.

The patrol said Bloomfield and Shelton were ejected when the Dodge pickup went out of control and struck an embankment and utility poll before rolling.

The driver, Timothy Tebbe, also was in critical condition.
