AUSTRALIA — If you don’t like spiders, stop reading now.

A West Australian man is joking about developing “superpowers” after an intimate incident with a spider.

According to WAToday, Dylan Thomas discovered a spider was living inside him. The arachnid had crawled under his skin, across his abdomen, leaving a blistery red trail behind.

Thomas said it was painful. He described feeling a “searing sensation.”

“It wasn’t really a tickling sensation, obviously once the venom started to affect my skin it was a really burning sensation like a searing feeling,” he said in an interview with Radio 6PR.

Thomas went to the hospital where medical staff were initially puzzled.

“After running tests and putting things inside my stomach they finally found out it was a tropical spider that’s been living inside of me for the last three days,” he wrote on Facebook.

Doctors removed the no-longer-living spider with tweezers.

Doctors believe it crawled in through an old appendix scar while Thomas was on holiday in Bali.
