INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A happy homecoming today as young women and their babies return to a place of refuge in Independence, Mo.

More than two years after a devastating fire, mother’s and their babies are getting a homecoming at Mother’s Refuge.

There’s a ribbon-cutting and luncheon starting at 11:15 a.m. The open house is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and again on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
