OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Overland Park police have one suspect in custody that they said was connected to the robbery in the Oak Park Mall parking lot on Jan. 21.

Anastaisa Adkins, 23, was charged with aggravated robbery and theft in connection to the robbery. Adkins is being held at the Johnson County Adult Detention Center with bond set at $100,000.

Police said four suspects were involved in the armed robbery. According to police the victim was sitting in her car around 4 p.m. when the robbers opened her driver’s side door. The victim told police that the suspects pointed a gun in her face and demanded her purse and cellphone.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving.

Police have also issued two warrants by the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office in relation to the robbery.

Police said the investigation is still on going and have not released the suspect’s motive for the robbery.

Adkins will appear in court Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
