KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Police are investigating a double shooting in Kansas, City, Kansas, where one person has died.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Rowland in KCK on reports of shots fired. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered two victims; one dead from an apparent gunshot wound, and another who was transported to an area hospital. Police say that man is in critical condition.

“There’s a large number of people outside due to the fact that it’s absolutely gorgeous outside. Unfortunately everyone was outside, so we have a lot of witnesses to speak with and hopefully that will lead to a suspect sooner or later,” said Amber Hickerson, with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Dept.

Family of the victims, who were at the scene, told FOX 4 the shooting victim who died was a 21-year-old male, and the second victim, who was taken to the hospital, is his father.

Police said Monday they have arrested one suspect in this case, but have yet to charge him.
