OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — A mother was petrified when her daughter called her and said she was threatened with a knife while on a school bus. The incident allegedly happened on the way home from Shawnee Mission West High School last week.
Mom Camille Allen said in addition to the knife, police told her that the student accused of threatening her daughter, Camryn, also had a box cutter.
“When she said he pulled a knife on me, I just assumed one. When I was told he had two knives and a box cutter, then I became real concerned,” Allen said.

Andreas Rodriguez, 18, was arrested for the alleged threat, and charged with aggravated assault.
Allen said she was the one who informed the school about what happened on the bus. She wonders why, and also says no other parents have been informed.
“If he had it on the bus, he had it in the school,” Allen said. “You would think there would be some notification; phone call, email just to give them a heads up.”
The high school says it is in the process of notifying parents involved, but Allen wants the school to be more transparent.
“I`m a concerned parent and you`re not receiving information, now I`m thinking you`re trying to hide something,” she said.
Allen says she refuses to let her daughter take the school until more safety measures are put in place. Rodriguez posted bond on Monday and is due back in court on Thursday according to online court records.
