KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are searching for two suspects accused of stealing maintenance items from the basement of an apartment building near the Kansas City River Market area.
Around 10 a.m. on Monday surveillance video captured two men entering the basement of an apartment building through a stairwell door, which was located just inside the entrance to the building.
According to the incident report, one of the men used an unknown tool to pry open the door in order to gain access to two tool rooms, from which they allegedly stole several items including power tools, drill bits and hand tools. The police report approximates the value of the stolen items at just under $1,000.
The suspects in this case are both described as African American males between the ages of 35 and 45, between 5’7″ and 5’9″ tall. The first suspect is described as weighing approximately 230 pounds, with black dreadlocks. He was wearing a dark blue shirt and black tennis shoes. The second suspect is described as weighing about 200 pounds, and wore a multicolored shirt with blue pants and red shoes.
