SHAWNEE, Kan. — Shawnee Police say a Johnson County man who was reported missing on over the weekend has been found.

On Sunday around 1:30 p.m. police said Bill R. Oxley, 65, was located out of state and was safe.

Police initially reported that Oxley had last been see at 10:30 a.m. on Friday September 11, 2015 at a gas station located at 55th and K-7 Highway.  They said Oxley had put gas in his car at the gas station, but his cell phone, with a damaged screen and his empty wallet were found by the gas pumps.

In a statement from the Shawnee Police Department read they “appreciate all the assistance provided by the community, the press, and outside law enforcement agencies.”
