KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Police say a call to check on the welfare of a man turned into a homicide investigation. KCK police say a man relaxing on his front porch in the 1900 block of North 28th street noticed a body on the side of his house on Monday afternoon at about 2:30.

Investigators say the victim is 20-year-old Cristobal A. Marzanares-Sepulveda, and right now it’s unknown what kind of weapon was used to kill him.

Investigators say they don’t know how long Marzanares-Sepulveda’s body was at this location, but FOX 4 is told it’s definitely a homicide because detectives say Marzanares-Sepulveda’s deadly wounds are on his back. A KCKPD spokesman told FOX 4 that the investigation is still in its early stages.

“Right now we’re just trying to gather any information we can; speaking with the neighbors, seeing if anyone heard anything,” said Officer Patrick McCallop.

Anyone with information that will help police make an arrest in this case should call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
