KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A homicide investigation is underway Tuesday night on Kansas City’s east side.  Lonell Boyles’, 20,  deceased body was found near the scene of a high-profile murder.

Amorian Hale was 3-years old when he died after he was hit by bullets sprayed into his home in May 2015.

Officers found Boyles’ body in the backyard of a house at 67th and Walrond. According to a tweet from Kansas City’s police chief, Darryl Forte, this apparent homicide happened behind the same house where 3-year-old Amorian Hale was shot and killed this past May.

Kansas City police captain Tye Grant says Boyles’ death is not related to Amorian Hale’s death.
