KANSAS CITY, Mo. —  Major League Baseball announced Thursday that Hall of Famer George Brett will serve as the ambassador for this summer’s MLB All-Star game in Kansas City.

Brett has played in 13 All-Star games, but never in Kansas City.

He’ll have his hand in every event that goes on and can rattle off the highlights like the pro he is: The 5 K Run and Walk, The Futures game, the highly popular Fan Fest.

“I went from thinking I was just going to have a nice, leisurely All Star break to.. now I’ll be busier than I am any five-day period of the year,” Brett said.
