KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Royals slugger Billy Butler is combining two of America’s greatest loves, baseball and food, and using it to give back to the community.
Butler has teamed up with the Bishop Sullivan Center, a local food pantry that feeds more than 1200 families a month, to help put food on the table by donating a ton of food for each home run, an a half ton for each double he hits this season.
The Bishop Sullivan Center says this program pretty much pays the food bill. Butler says it the least he can do.
You can get involved as well. With a donation of 250 dollars, you will buy a ton of food, benefiting the Bishop Sullivan Center. In return you will receive two tickets to a Royals game, an autographed bat from Butler himself and two tickets to a lunch with the big hitter this August.
