AURORA, Col. — Colorado police posted a picture on their transportation department Facebook page last week that is raising eyebrows.
The picture was taken by a police officer who pulled over a woman during a seat belt enforcement campaign. The officer says the mother and a 14-year-old in the car were not wearing seat belts. A child in the backseat was strapped in with only a lap belt, while a gas jug was strapped into a child’s car seat.
Colorado law requires all children under eight to be in a child safety seat.
The officer snapped the picture and posted the it on the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Facebook page.
The unidentified driver was cited on three seat belt violations and for not having proof of insurance.
